A whirlwind Ceiling Fan install

Its been a wonderful if a bit weird year. so much has happened. looking through some of these pictures from this year has reminded me just how much I have to be grateful for and how lucky i am. but anyway, this is a post about installing ceiling fans!

1. Preparation and Shopping:

I kicked off the project by taking down the old lights and heading to my local Lowe's to pick up some sleek new ceiling fans. The selection was vast, but I found the perfect ones to complement my space.

2. Safety First:

Before diving into the installation, I made sure to prioritize safety. Turning off the electricity to the entire house was a non-negotiable step to ensure a secure working environment.

3. Mounting:

With the power off, I began the mounting process, carefully checking for studs to secure the mount firmly. This step is crucial for the stability and safety of the ceiling fans.. and my head.

4. Wiring Wonders:

Threading the wires through can be a bit intricate, but following the provided diagrams made the process straightforward. I did encounter a unique situation – my ceiling lights lacked a ground wire. I improvised by grounding the ceiling fans to the mount, ensuring a secure connection.

5. Assembling the ceiling fan assembly.

One thing i didn't realize going into the project was how much of the fan and blades were going to require assembly. me and my wife attached the blades to their mounts, and the then to the rotor.. then some up and down as we figured out exactly how it was supposed to be installed. But the directions did a good job of detailing how to do it.

Conclusion:

Embarking on DIY projects not only adds value to your home but also provides a sense of accomplishment. If you're considering installing ceiling fans, remember to prioritize safety, follow instructions diligently, and embrace the learning curve. Cheers to a year of growth and successful home projects!
